The MVI56E-AFC computer from ProSoft Technology is an in-chassis flow computer for Rockwell Automation ControlLogix platforms. It allows for allocation measurement and custody transfer of water, oil, and gas. The MVI56E-AFC computer eliminates the need for a standalone flow computer or separate RTUs for the measurement of oil and gas applications in instances where a ControlLogix platform is carrying out site automation. This computer allows for resource optimization, reduced capital expenditure, and reduced operational expenditure. The MVI56E-AFC computer provides measurements in compliance with standards including the AGA, GPA, ISO, and API standards. The items included in the MVI56E-AFC computer shipment include the RJ-45 to DB-9 male cables and the DB-9 female to DB-9 female null modem cables.
The MVI56E-AFC computer includes 2 integrated serial ports with an R-45 interface which can support RS-232, RS-485, and RS-422 (jumper selectable) communication. The serial ports have 500 Volts rated optical isolation from the rack backplane. The ports support handshaking control and they provide radio, modem, and multi-drop support. The module also includes a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port with an RJ-45 interface and LEDs for displaying link status and activity. The Ethernet port supports auto crossover. The electrical power requirements of the MVI56E-AFC computer are 3 milliamps of current at 24 Volts DC and 800 milliamps of current at 5 Volts DC. The LED indicators on the module display the module status, serial activity, application status, and backplane transfer status. The operating temperature range for the MVI56E-AFC computer is from 32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. The storage temperature range for the module is from -40 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit. The operating shock rating is 30 G while the non-operating shock rating is 50 G.
