RA56-ESA

The RA56-ESA is an Allen-Bradley ControlLogix Programmable Automation Controller (PAC) compatible module. It is manufactured by Online Development Inc. (OLDI) which is specifically used to implement communication between Logix PLC and enterprise data servers. This module is capable of initiating bi-directional data exchange from the PLC to plant floor devices for use in a variety of applications and processes such as batching, material handling, inventory, sorting, distribution, and other similar applications. The RA56-ESA is a single slot module that directly mounts to an empty ControlLogix chassis slot. It is provided with Three (3) status indicators particularly BAT, USR, and OK. It can be used with any series of ControlLogix controllers specifically, 1756-L5, 1756-L6, 1756-L7, and the modern 1756-L8 series. An Add-on Profile (AOP) is associated with this module which can be utilized to program the behavior and data exchange feature of this hardware. The module’s associated AOP consumes 3 Words of input tags, 2 Words of output tags, and configuration tags. This module supports inhibition and may be used to produce major fault on the controller when communication failure is experienced while in run mode.
