1794-ACNR

The 1794-ACNR is an Allen-Bradley module that belongs to the 1794 Flex I/O product family. It functions as a ControlNet communication adapter, allowing Flex I/O modules to exchanged data to and from the controller via ControlNet protocol.

The 1794-ACNR is a communication adapter that support redundant ControlNet connection. It has Two (2) ControlNet ports, allowing each port to tap to redundant ControlNet Trunk for establishing high-availability network. On each of the ControlNet port, up to 5Mbps transmission speed is supported via Belden RG-6/U ControlNet cable.

Up to Eight (8) Flex I/O modules may be installed along this communication adapter. This Flex I/O module may come in specific combinations of Discrete Input and Output modules, Analog input and output modules as well as specialty modules. The 1794-ACNR sends data of the Flex I/O input modules and accepts controller command to be implemented by the Flex I/O output modules.

The 1794-ACNR is power by an external power supply with voltage range of 19.2…31.2V DC, 400 mA and nominal value of 24VDC. It can withstand an inrush current amounting to 14A for 2 ms. It is also built with LED indicators for convenient troubleshooting of the device such as I/O Status, Comm A and Comm B LED indicators. It has an isolation voltage of 50V (continuous), Basic Insulation Type type tested @ 860V AC for 60 s and designed to operate at a temperature range of -20…55 °C -4…131 °F). The module comes with an open-type enclosure thus, it requires a proper enclosure during installation.

The maximum Flexbus output current is 640 mA at 5 Volts DC. The modul’s maximum power dissipation is 4.6 Watts at 19.2 Volts DC and the thermal dissipation is 15.7 BTU/hour at 19.2 Volts DC. The 1794-ACNR module’s operating temperature is -20 to 55 degrees Celsius and its non-operating temperature is -40 to 85 degrees Celsius. It has a maximum ambient air temperature of 55 degrees Celsius and a non-condensing relative humidity of 5 to 95%. This module also has an operating vibration of 5 G at 10 to 500 Hertz, an operating shock of 30 G, and a non-operating shock of 50 G. Red and green indicators are present with this module, particularly 1 status indicator and 2 communication indicators. The module can be mounted with a DIN rail mount or a panel mount. The 1794-ACNR module has an open-type enclosure and measures 3.7 x 3.6 x 3.4 inches. The ControlNet protocol is v1.25 and 2 ControlNet BNC ports are present with this module. It can connect to up to 8 terminal base units that have FLEX I/O modules installed, making a FLEX I/O system of up to 8 slots. The power supply used with this module should have a Safety Extra Low Voltage (SELV) or a Protected Extra Low Voltage (PELV) to comply with the CE Low Voltage Directives (LVD).
