About 1794-ADN

The Allen-Bradley 1794-ADN is a 24 Volts DC DeviceNet media adapter module. It can support up to 8 input/output modules and it has communication rates of 125 Kbps, 250 Kbps, and 500 Kbps. Status indicators in the 1794-ADN allow the user to monitor the I/O and ModNet status. The module has an open-type enclosure and it can mount on a DIN rail or panel mount. It also comes with 1 DeviceNet port that uses an open 5 or 10-pin linear plug. The entire 1794-ADN module measures 3.7 x 3.6 x 3.4 inches. Its power ports use Category 1 wire, while the communication ports use Category 2 wire.

This adapter module has a power supply current load of 400 mA at 24 Volts, while its DeviceNet power is 24 Volts DC at 90 mA. Note that the power supply of 24 Volts DC needs to be able to turn on an inrush surge current of 14 Amps for 5 milliseconds to each adapter connected to the power supply. It has a nominal input voltage of 24 Volts DC and a maximum FlexBus output current of 640 mA at 5 Volts DC. Its input voltage range is from 19.2 to 31.2 Volts DC and this includes the 5% AC ripple. It also has a maximum current draw of 400 mA and 300 mA at 24 Volts DC. The DeviceNet has its own power requirement with a maximum of 24 Volts DC (+/- 4%) at 90 mA.

Type tested at 1,930 Volts DC for 60 seconds, the 1794-ADN has a continuous isolation voltage of 50 Volts. Its maximum power dissipation is 7.6 W at 19.2 Volts DC and its thermal dissipation is 26 BTU/hour at 19.2 Volts DC. Its operating temperature is -4 to 158 degrees Fahrenheit while its storage temperature is -40 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit. It comes with a vibration of 5 g at 10 to 500 Hertz, an operating shock of 30 g, and a non-operating shock of 50 g.
