The Allen-Bradley 1794-CJC2 is a Flex cold-junction compensation kit suitable for use with the Flex I/O Thermocouple/RTD input analog modules. Each kit comes with 2 cold-junction compensators and has a 0 to 70 °C range. Note that some modules, specifically the 1794-IT8 and 1794-IRT8 modules, already ship with the 1794-CJC2 compensation kit and for other modules, it must be purchased separately.
These modules that are compatible with the 1794-CJC2 compensation kit feature channels that are individually configurable, inputs that are single-ended (for analog modules) or differential (for temperature modules, as well as isolated analog modules), input filters that are selectable (but only on some modules), user-configurable onboard scaling of temperature modules, and many others. These modules have 8 channels present, which consist of 2 groups of 4 channels, a key switch position of 3, and an open-type enclosure. Analog modules have internal calibration, while temperature and isolated analog modules require users to calibrate the modules themselves.
When using the 1794-CJC2 compensation kit with these modules, make sure that the temperature is within the range of either -20 to 55 ° C or -20 to 70 °C, depending on the module, and note that it should be stored in locations with temperatures within the -40 to 85 °C range. These modules can handle shocks of 50 g when not in operation, as well as shocks of 30 g when in use. The 1794-CJC2 also has a vibration of 5 g at 50 to 100 Hz and a relative humidity of 5 to 95%, which is non-condensing.
