The Allen-Bradley 1794-IA8I is a Flex 1794 Digital AC Input module. It is fitted inside the terminal bus making a connection with the field devices and the I/O bus. Modules can be inserted or removed with the power since the I/O module does not have any direct wiring. It in turn saves time and removes system restarting inefficiency. It contains isolated inputs which have applications in motor control centers in control transformers.
The 1794-IA8I module has 8 isolated inputs with 120V AC nominal On-State voltage, 65V AC minimum On-State voltage, 43V AC maximum Off-State voltage, and 2.9mA maximum Off-State current. It has an input filter time of 8.4ms from Off to On and of 26.4ms from On to Off. It has a maximum power dissipation of 4.5W at 132V AC. Terminal base units compatible with it are the 1794-TBN, 1794-TB2, 1794-TB3, 1794-TB3S and the 1794-TBKD. It is installed using DIN rail mounting. It has various communication options such as ControlNet, DeviceNet, EtherNet/IP and Universal Remote I/O.
The 1794-IA8I module has 16 yellow LEDs as status indicators for each channel. It also has XT versions of standard modules for operating in extreme environments which reduces panel and maintenance costs. It has a 0 - 55 °C (32 - 131 °F) operating temperature and 5 - 95% noncondensing relative humidity.
