This 1794-IA8K unit is a member of the Allen-Bradley Flex I/O AC Digital Input Module series; this unit operates with a 14.32 mA on-state current maximum and features a 132 Volt AC on-state voltage maximum. It has 8 non-isolated inputs and operates with 43 Volts AC off-state voltage at maximum, has a 65 Volt AC on-state voltage minimum and a 71 mA on-state current minimum. Featuring a 30 mA at 5 Volts DC flexbus current and a 12 mA at 120 Volts AC nominal input current, it dissipates around 4.5 Watts of power at 132 Volts AC. According to the European Union Directive 94/9/EC, the 1794-IA8K unit is made to be used in explosive atmospheres. When it comes to its certification, Laboratoire Central des Industries Electriques (LCIE) states that this unit meets all the requirements of essential health and safety, which has been assured by its compliance with EN 50021. In addition, this module complies with a variety of other requirements, such as design and construction.
The 1794-IA8K unit is not resistant to the sources of UV radiation such as sunlight. It should be used within its specified ratings, which are defined by Allen-Bradley. The terms should be made in order to keep the rated voltage low, as it is exceeded by transient disturbances of more than 40% when it is applied to Zone II environments of Class “I”.
