The 1794-IB8S by Allen Bradley is a sensor input module used to increase the number of processes running at the same time. This is an 8 point module which runs on a DC power input of 24 Volts. It is a modular I/O system which acts as the main driving unit for a variety of applications where inputs/outputs are ramped like a rack. With a heat dissipation figure of 10.2 BTU/hour and a 3 Watt power dissipation, the 1794-IB8S is one of the more efficient input modules used in the industry today.
A unique key switch position on every such module helps in identifying different labels. Channel status, input data and module status is communicated as a transferred word when the 1794-IB8S is first powered.
The DeviceNet Manager helps in communication interface between the input module to the terminal block using the read programming moves. There are provisions to calibrate the module depending upon the application that it is being used for. The output must be connected to a low impedance ground and must be isolated from the input. The operational temperature range is 0 to 55 degrees Celsius.
