1794-IC16

The 1794-IC16 by Allen Bradley is a Flex Input/output module that works on a sinking input of 48 Volts DC. The operating input voltage varies from 5 to 125 Volts depending on the type of terminal block used with this module. Some of the configurable blocks are 1794-TB3S and 1794-TB3SK. Maximum power dissipation is 6.4 Watts with a heat dissipation figure of 22 BTU/hour. This unit has dimensions of 46 x 94 x 53 millimeters making it easy to install and transport. There are provisions for screw mounting and DIN rail mounting as well.

The 1794-IC16 consists of a total of 16 inputs that a play a vital role in increasing the capacity of a stock module to support more processes simultaneously.Connect individual inputs to their terminals exactly by the assigned numbers on the terminal block.

This unit supports an open-style enclosure; it is important to use the appropriate communication media for easy interface between the module’s output and a remote desktop.

The 1794-IC16 can withstand 1900 Volts DC, thus having very high isolation voltage; the input filter time can also be configured accordingly depending upon the type of process. There are 16 indicators for status identification, all of them being logic driven, and a T3 temperature code with 2 key switch positions. It is generally advised to use a surge protector in case of a sudden power imbalance.
