The Allen-Bradley 1794-IE4XOE2XT analog I/O module has 4 inputs and 2 single-ended outputs and it operates with 4 Watts of at 31.2 Volts DC power dissipation and a 4 to 20 milliamps input signal range. It is a FLEX I/O-XT analog combination module. FLEX I/O XT modules are intended for use in harsh environmental conditions. The only differences that they have from their non-XT FLEX I/O counterparts are their operating temperature ranges and their standard conformal coating. Extreme environment FLEX I/O-XT modules are rated at -20 to 70 degrees Celsius (-4 to 158 degrees Fahrenheit) and they are compatible with the ControlLogix-XT extreme environment system. To suit individual application requirements, the users can select the I/O, termination style, and network independently on the 1794-IE4XOE2XT module. The 2 distinct field power connection terminals allow the users to make a daisy-chain power connection to adjacent terminal bases.

Each adapter can connect to a maximum of 8 I/O modules. This enables the users to connect to 256 digital I/O points, 96 analog I/O points, or other I/O combinations that would match with the users' application specifications. The system can be powered by using a FLEX power supply (the 1794-PS13 or -PS3), a 1606 switched-mode power supply, or any other power source that is compatible. The users can use the terminal block at the terminal base on the 1794-IE4XOE2XT module to directly wire field devices. Wiring directly would save the users installation and testing time and control cabinet panel space as well as eliminating the need for long wiring runs and external terminal blocks. FLEX I/O XT systems like the 1794-IE4XOE2XT module can connect to EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, ControlNet, and many other open networks, including, but not limited to Remote I/O and PROFIBUS DP networks. Adapters and other modules can be attached to a device depending on how the specific application needs to change.
