The 1794-IJ2 by Allen Bradley belongs to the family of Flex Input/Output modules. It is a DC input frequency module, running on 24 Volts DC. This module works on a rack-based configuration for a total of Eight (8) terminals can be configured at once, using an adapter module. This unit has 2 inputs, 2 outputs, and 2 frequency inputs, enabling it to perform high-speed algorithms; Its most basic applications include all processes that make use of units to measure acceleration, direction, or reporting frequency at a given point in time. Both the inputs and the outputs are electrically fused to prevent damages at the time of interrupted power supply and there are indicators for process identification and power supply. Installing this device is a user-friendly process; it can either be mounted with screws or as a DIN rail mount using a 1794-NM1 for mounting. The flex bus connector must be fully inserted into the terminal unit. There are dedicated options for using Profibus or Ethernet as the network for communication. The operating temperature ranges between 0 and 55 degrees Celsius with a maximum starting current of 10 A.

This module has front panel components including input indicator, insertable label for writing individual I/O assignments, Wire-off fault indicator, Output indicator and Power Status indicator, indicating applied power to the module.

This module has a maximum input frequency of 1-32 kHz w/sine wave and 1-32 kHz w/square wave input and maximum frequency value of 32,767 or 3,276.7 depending on range with pulse width 20 ?s. Additionally, this module has Two (2) isolated outputs. It has a minimum output voltage of 10VDC and maximum of 31.2 VDC and nominal voltage of 24VDC. It has an On-state current of 1 mA per output, minimum and 1.0 A per channel sourced out of module maximum with surge current of 2 A for 50 ms, repeatable every 2 s.

The output channels are individually assignable to Frequency, % Full Scale or Acceleration Alarm. The output switching time is triggered by frequency or acceleration alarm with turn ON time of 0.5 ms and turn-off time of 1 ms.

This frequency module has varying frequency depending on the sample frequency. Module resolution range is 0.01% - 0.00002%, corresponding to the sample frequency range of 2 - 1000 ms. Additionally, sampling accuracy range of +/- 0.02% - +/- 0.00004%.
