The 1794-OE4K module is an Allen-Bradley FLEX I/O high-density analog module with 4 channels. This module, like all modules from the FLEX I/O series whose part numbers end with a “K”, is specially engineered to meet the ISA/ANSI-71.040 1985 class G3 environmental standard noxious gas requirements. All components integrated into the 1794-OE4K module are conformally coated to withstand harsh environmental conditions. This 4-channel analog output unit is a block transfer module that exchanges data about the analog signals reading with Allen-Bradley PLCs over block transfer technology. Blocks of data are transferred from the 1794-OE4K module’s internal memory to a selected area in the data table of the PLC. Block transfer also includes the moving of the configuration data (words) from the PLC’s data table to the memory of the analog input module. The resolution of analog outputs is 12 bits (plus sign) and they can be configured to work with 0 to 10 Volts, ±10 Volts, 0 to 20 mA, or 4 to 20 mA of power.
The Allen-Bradley 1794-OE4K module is installed onto a terminal base unit that must have a keyswitch positioned to Position 4. This I/O module can be mounted on the 1794-TB2, 1794-TB3, 1794-TB3S, 1794-TB3T, 1794-TB3TS, and the 1794-TBN terminal base units. There is no individual isolation from high voltages between the output channels, but the unit is tested at 850 Volts DC voltage for 1 second between user power to system. The 1794-OE4K module requires a 24 Volts DC external power supply and it draws around 70 mA of current. The unit will work without problems at temperatures between 0 and 55 degrees Celsius. The space requirements of the unit are 45.7 millimeters x 94 millimeters x 53.3 millimeters.
