The Allen-Bradley 100-D180EY00 contactor is a large-frame IEC contactor. It comes with an electronic coil. The control voltage for the contactor coil is 42 to 64 Volts AC with 50 to 60 Hertz frequency. The coil also includes a built-in electronic interface. This contactor is designed and manufactured by Allen-Bradley and is part of the Bulletin 100-D series. The Bulletin 100-D series includes contactors rated for 115 to 860 Amps of current. They are all 3-pole contactors with electronic or conventional AC or DC coils. Optional accessories for the Bulletin 100-D contactors include mechanical/electrical interlocks, terminal lugs, terminal shields, and IP 20 rated terminal blocks. The protection rating of the 100-D180EY00 IEC contactor on its own is IP 00. The contactor does not feature any built-in auxiliary contacts.
Allen-Bradley recommends that the 100-D180EY00 Bulletin 100-D contactor be installed and operated at altitudes of 6600 feet maximum above sea level. The current rating of 180 Amps is valid for ambient temperatures between -13 and 140 degrees Fahrenheit. The current rating derates or reduces by 15% at an absolute maximum operating temperature of 158 degrees Fahrenheit. The operation of the 100-D180EY00 contactor at ambient conditions outside of those recommended by Allen-Bradley can lead to device damage. The contactor must be checked after every short circuit for contact welds and device damage. After a short circuit, the contactor must not be put back into operation until it is checked, repaired if necessary, and its operation is verified. When any welding of the main contacts occurs after a short circuit, it may be possible to remove the welds by using a screwdriver. Only original spare parts should be used for the 100-D180EY00 contactor.
