The Allen-Bradley 100-D180EZA11 Bulletin 100-D contactor is a 3-pole IEC contactor. The coil in the contactor is electronic. Allen-Bradley also manufactures Bulletin 100-D contactors with conventional coils. The electronic coil in the 100-D180EZA11 contactor is rated for 200 to 255 Volts DC and it supports an electronic interface. The 100-D180EZA11 contactor also supports 2 auxiliary contacts besides its main contacts. One auxiliary contact is a normally-closed contact and the other is a normally-open contact. The Bulletin 100-D contactors like the 100-D180EZA11 contactor only support panel mounting. With an IP 00 protection rating, these contactors are designed for indoor use only. Only qualified personnel should install the high-power 100-D180EZA11 contactor and its associated machinery such as motors. Severe injury and/or extensive equipment damage may result otherwise.

The current rating of the Allen-Bradley 100-D180EZA11 Bulletin 100-D contactor is 180 Amps. Note that this rating is valid only for the -13 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit ambient temperature range. Outside this range, the operating current will be less than the highest rated value. At an ambient temperature of 158 degrees Fahrenheit, the operating current derates by 15%. Short circuits can cause contact welding in this contactor’s main contacts. Therefore, the 100-D180EZA11 contactor must be inspected closely after every short circuit. It may be possible to remove some contact welds with a screwdriver. The contactor must be disconnected from the main power supply before any maintenance activity is performed. To ensure reliability, only original spare parts and accessories manufactured by Allen Bradley should be used with this contactor. The use of cheap, substandard, and unauthorized accessories and spare parts can affect the contactor’s reliability.
