The Allen-Bradley 100-D180N11-X10 contactor is a 3-pole contactor with a 180-Amp current rating. It is a Bulletin 100-D IEC contactor and it belongs to the Bulletin 100-D product line. The main contacts on the contactor can get welded together by short circuits. Therefore, it is mandatory that the contactor be checked for welds after every short circuit. The main contactor welds need to be removed before the 100-D180N11-X10 contactor can be put back in operation. At times, it may be possible to remove the welds simply by using a screwdriver. The IP 00 protection rating of the contactor makes it suitable for use in indoor applications only. This contactor is only designed for panel mounting. The maximum elevation of the installation site that is allowed by Allen-Bradley is 2000 meters or 6600 feet above sea level.
At altitudes that exceed 2000 meters, the Allen-Bradley 100-D180N11-X10 Bulletin 100-D contactor will derate, which means that its current carrying capacity will reduce. The current carrying capability of the contactor also reduces if the ambient temperature is outside the recommended range of -25 to 60 degrees Celsius, and it falls to 85% of the rated current value at 70 degrees Celsius. The coil on the 100-D180N11-X10 contactor is of the conventional type and has a control voltage rating of 380 to 400 Volts AC at 50 Hertz line frequency and 440 Volts AC at 60 Hertz line frequency. To prevent injuries and equipment damage and to ensure contactor reliability, Allen-Bradley recommends that the 100-D180N11-X10 contactor be handled, installed, operated, and serviced by qualified personnel only. The dimensions of the 100-D180N11-X10 contactor are 170 x 120 x 156 millimeters.
