The Allen-Bradley 100-D300EP00 contactor is a large-frame Bulletin 100-D contactor. A contactor is a device that is similar to a relay in that both types of devices are used for switching electrical circuits. Contactors such as the 100-D300EP00 contactor, however, are specifically designed for the switching of single-phase and 3-phase AC motors. The 100-D300EP00 contactor is rated for 450 Amps of operating current for applications involving single-phase AC voltage. For 3-phase applications, the contactor has a 300 Amps operating current rating. This current rating is highly dependent on the ambient conditions under which the contactor operates. The recommended ambient conditions for ideal contactor operation are 2000 meters of maximum altitude and a -25 to 60 degrees Celsius operating temperature range. If the temperature increases to 70 degrees Celsius, the contactor’s current rating decreases by 15%.

The Allen-Bradley 100-D300EP00 Bulletin 100-D contactor has been tested to withstand a maximum impulse voltage of 12 kilovolts. Per the IEC standards, the isolation voltage rating is 1000 Volts, and per the CSA /UL standards, the isolation voltage rating is 600 Volts. The 100-D300EP00 contactor is certified by the CE, CCC, and cULus standards. The contactor is approved by multiple standards, including the IEC, CSA, and UL 508 standards. The control coil on the contactor is electronic and it has a control voltage rating of 100 Volts AC. The coil comes with an integrated electronic interface. The 100-D300EP00 contactor does not include auxiliary contacts. It is made of environmentally friendly materials. Allen-Bradley recommends switching off the contactor prior to any maintenance activity. Failure to follow this recommendation can lead to serious equipment damage and user injury or death. Only trained technicians should handle and install the device.
