The 100-D420ED00 DC-operated contactor is an Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation Bulletin 100-D contactor. This unit belongs to the Bulletin 100-D series of compact contactors that are designed for high current applications. The 100-D420ED00 contactor features a built-in surge suppression feature that protects it against high voltage and current levels. It also features a high voltage isolation rating (up to 1000 Volts by the IEC standards) and a high impulse voltage withstand rating (up to 12 kilovolts). The 100-D420ED00 contactor has a rated switching power of 250 kilowatts and a rated operating current of 420 Amps. The 100-D420ED00 contactor comes with an electronic AC coil that has low switching ratings. This coil has an operating voltage range of 110 to 130 Volts AC and a nominal signal voltage rating of 24 Volts DC at 15 milliamps.

The Allen-Bradley 100-D420ED00 Bulletin 100-D contactor supports an integrated PLC interface for connection to a PLC system. By using the additionally supplied S1 PLC switch on the coil circuit, the contactor can be integrated into a PLC system without an interposing relay. The contactor operation and control settings can be programmed directly from a CPU or HMI device. The 100-D420ED00 contactor has Class B type coil insulation and it supports an IP 20 rated enclosure. It is built for high-thermal applications with an operating temperature range between -25 degrees Celsius and 60 degrees Celsius. The 100-D420ED00 contactor can withstand high operational shock and high vibration ratings. The 100-D420ED00 contactor is supplied with 3 main contacts or power terminals that are normally open for direct wiring to a power circuit. Optional terminals and auxiliary contacts can be added to the contactor to meet specific application demands.
