The 100-D420EZY11 contactor is an Allen-Bradley Bulletin 100-D series IEC contactor. It is rated for 420 Amps of operating current. Because this contactor carries very high levels of AC current and voltage, it must be installed, operated, and serviced only by trained technicians. The safety instructions listed in the product manual should all be read carefully and implemented to reduce the risk of user injury and component damage or malfunctioning. Short circuits can cause the main contacts on the 100-D420EZY11 contactor to become welded together. Short-circuits can also damage other components of the contactor. As a result, Allen-Bradley requires that the contactor be inspected after every occurrence of a short circuit to check for welded contacts and other signs of damage. Some small contact welds can be removed by using a screwdriver to cut them apart, but larger welds require the contacts to be replaced. Only original spare parts and accessories that are manufactured by Allen-Bradley should be used for replacing damaged parts or customizing the contacto. Contactor reliability may be negatively affected by the use of substandard or unauthorized accessories and spare parts.
The Allen-Bradley 100-D420EZY11 Bulletin 100-D contactor is a 3-pole contactor with 2 auxiliary contacts (one NC or normally closed auxiliary contact and one NO or normally open auxiliary contact) as well as its 3 NO poles or main contacts. The coil on the device is electronic and it operates at a voltage range between 48 and 72 Volts DC. The contactor can be used for various motor switching and lighting applications. The mechanical lifespan of the 100- D420EZY11 contactor is approximately 10 million operations and the electrical lifespan of the device is approximately 1 million operations. The standard operating specifications of the contactor are valid for ambient temperatures between -25 and 60 degrees Celsius and for altitudes of up to 2000 meters above sea level. At higher temperatures and altitudes, the maximum current level that the 100-D420EZY11 contactor can support derates by at least 15% and the contactor may malfunction at excessively high temperatures or altitudes. The isolation voltage rating of the 100-D420EZY11 contactor is 1000 Volts according to the IEC standard.
