The MCS-E contactor known as the 100-E12QJ10 contactor is part of the Allen-Bradley 100-E series of IEC contactors. It is a member of the Allen-Bradley Bulletin 100 line of space-saving and energy-saving contactors. The Bulletin 100-E contactors have a large current range of 9 to 2650 Amps but they are small in size and light in weight, which helps to save installation space. The 100-E12QJ10 contactor is a direct-on-line contactor that has an AC-3 current rating of up to 12 Amps and an AC-1 current rating of up to 28 Amps at 60 degrees Celsius and 40 degrees Celsius, respectively. It has an electronic coil with a coil voltage of 24 Volts DC. The DC electronic coils on the 100-E12QJ10 contactor consume less power and have a faster drop-out time than other contactor coils. This contactor has energy-efficient QJ coils and a built-in surge suppressor. The coil's hold-in power consumption rating is 1.7 Watts, and its pick-up power consumption rating is 6 Watts.

It supports switching for AC motors rated from 3 to 7.5 kilowatts at 50 Hertz AC voltages ranging from 220 to 690 Volts AC. Additionally, at an AC frequency of 60 Hertz, it supports switching for motors rated from 3 to 10 Horsepower with a voltage range of 200 to 575 Volts AC. This contactor has 3 main contacts, and one normally open auxiliary contact. The connection terminals on the 100-E12QJ10 contactor are the screw-clamp type, with a recommended tightening torque of 1.5 N-m for the main contact terminals and 1.2 N-m for the coil and auxiliary contacts. While in the connected state, the contactor's coil terminals and auxiliary contacts are rated with an IP2X environmental protection rating.
