The Allen-Bradley 2080-LC50-48AWB Expandable 48-point PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) has embedded inputs and outputs and it is part of the Micro850 product range. The 2080-LC50-48AWB contains an integrated 24V DC power supply and it supports any 24V DC (range 20.4-26.5V DC) output power supply which meets the minimum specifications including the optional 2080-PS120-240V AC. The PLC consumes 11 W power (without any plug-in/expansion I/O) and it consumes a maximum of 33 W (with plug-in/expansion I/O). An integrated USB 2.0 (non-isolated) port can be used for programming the 2080-LC50-48AWB. A standard USB printer cable will work with the embedded USB port. The unit also contains an Ethernet Class 3 Modbus TCP (10/100Mbps) port for programming, RTU applications, and HMI connectivity. An integrated RS232/RS485 non-isolated combo serial communication port is also provided. The 2080-LC50-48AWB has built-in support for 48 I/O: 28 inputs and 20 outputs. The 28 inputs support a maximum input frequency of 63 Hz, a maximum inrush current of 250 mA at 120V AC and a maximum input voltage of 132V AC at 60 Hz. The maximum off-state current and voltage are 1.5 mA and 20V AC, respectively. The minimum, nominal, and maximum on-state current are 5 mA at 79V AC, 12 mA at 120V AC, and 16 mA at 132V AC, respectively. The 20 relay outputs support a maximum of 2 A continuous current at 240V AC/ 24V DC whereas the minimum load current is 10 mA. The minimum output voltage is 5V DC/AC whereas the maximum output voltage is 125V DC/265V AC. The turn-off and turn-on time are both 10 ms. Analog I/O are supported via plug-in modules or with the expansion I/O modules. The 2080-LC50-48AWB can accommodate up to 5 plug-in modules and a maximum of 4 Micro800 expansion I/O. A maximum of 132 digital I/O can be supported by plug-in and expansion I/O modules. The basic instruction speed is 0.3 µs per basic instruction and the minimum scan/cycle time is less than 0.25 ms. The included programming languages are Ladder Diagram, Function Block, and Structured Text. User-defined function blocks, motion instructions, PID loop control and 32- and 64-bit floating point math are also supported. Embedded serial port protocols are the RS232/485, Modbus RTU Master/ Slave, ASCII and the CIP. To prevent any possible electrical interference, the 2080-LC50-48AWB PLC should be installed as far away as possible from power lines, load lines, and other sources of electrical noise. The operating temperature range of the 2080-LC50-48AWB is from -20-65ºC at 5-95% relative humidity (non-condensing). The 2080-LC50-48AWB is enclosed in an IP20-rated enclosure with dimensions of 90 x 238 x 80 mm and it weighs 0.725 kg.

The Allen-Bradley 2080-LC50-48AWB is a Micro 850 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). This is a compact controller that comes with integral components allowing it to function as an out-of-the-box controller. It comes with a 24 Volt DC power supply; forty-eight (48) input and output channels, which are composed of twenty-eight (28) 120 Volt AC input channels and twenty (20) relay output channels. It also has six (6) embedded High-Speed input channels that support up to a 100 Kilohertz switching frequency.

The 2080-LC50-48AWB supports the installation of an additional five (5) modules allowing it to reach up to 132 I/O channels. Not only does it accept expansion I/O modules, it also accepts installation of additional communication modules, memory back-up, and Real-Time Clock (RTC) modules.

It may be programmed with up to 10K steps or instructions and able to handle up to 20K bytes of data. User program can be developed using IEC 61131-3 Programming languages such as Ladder Diagram (LD), Function Block Diagram (FBD), and Structured Text (ST). It also supports development of user-defined function blocks and use of motion instruction. It can process Floating Point Math operations, supporting 32-bit and 64-bit, and able to implement Proportional + Integral + Derivative (PID) control.

The embedded communication port available to the 2080-LC50-48AWB is a combo serial port. It supports RS-232/RS-485 communication standard, implementing Modbus RTU Master / Slave architecture, ASCII, and Common Industrial Protocol (CIP).

The 2080-LC50-48AWB supports mounting to a standard 35-millimeter DIN rail or direct Panel Mounting via the mounting holes supplied with the module.
