The 42DRA-5000-FO sensor is a Photoswitch series photoelectric sensor manufactured by Allen-Bradley. It has selectable light/dark output mode. The output configuration is NPN/PNP. This Photoswitch sensor uses an Infrared beam for sensing objects. The response time of the infrared sensor is 1 milliseconds. The sensor material of the unit is manufactured using Valox housing and an Acrylic lens. The front side of the sensor has an LED output indicator. This Photoelectric sensor comes with 2 major components: a photo head and a power base. The 42DRA-5000-FO sensor supports different field views and it can sense objects from a distance of 127 millimeters. The operating temperature should be set between -40 and 65 degrees Celsius with a relative humidity level of 90% maximum. The outer body of the sensor has a corrosion resistant coating for harsh environmental conditions. 

The Allen-Bradley Photoswitch 42DRA-5000-FO sensor is able to withstand vibrations between 10 and 55 Hertz and shocks of 30 G with 1 millisecond of pulse duration time. This sensor unit has an ambient light immunity rating of 5000 lux. The 42DRA-5000-FO sensor has a load current rating of 100 milliamps and a leakage current rating of 1 microamp. In terms of safety and protection, the photoelectric sensor comes with reverse polarity/power on the false pulse protection. This sensor variant uses the Infrared 800-millimeter sensor. The 42DRA-5000-FO sensor has a quick disconnect design and this design reduces downtime. This modular sensor unit is easy to install and replace.
