The 1775-AD2 is a rack door expansion slot for a series of devices that are manufactured by the Allen Bradley brand. This expansion door is used to expand on the existing functionality of the devices that are compatible with this rack door, which can be used to install additional modules to a range of compatible devices in order to add features such as extra programmable options, improved power delivery toward an output device, or modules that helps to improve the overall automation of the facility and the particular devices that are being utilized. The 1775-AD2 is compatible with drives that belong to Allen Bradley PLC 3 range of drives. These drives offer high-performance in modern-day factories and facilities where motors and similar hardware settings are used to produce a variety of items and other functions. The majority of the devices that are part of this particular product series from Allen Bradley also provides a range of expansion options, which can be utilized through the installation of external modules. The external modules are connected directly to the compatible Allen Bradley PLC 3 drive, which then delivers additional features that can be used for a variety of purposes, ultimately to assist with providing an improvement in the facility’s automation of their internal operations.
Compatible devices may need adjustments in their initial programming and configurations in order to support the functionality that is provided by a module installed through the use of the 1775-AD2. These programming features will need to be conducted and uploaded to the drive where the rack door expansion will be installed in. Depending on the particular module that will be installed, additional configuration files and programming may also need to be implemented directly in the expansion module in order to ensure expected features can be implemented in the facility where the device is used.
