sThe 1775-LP8 is a processor module designed and manufactured by Allen-Bradley. The module belongs to the PLC-3/10 family of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) from Rockwell Automation. The 1775-LP8 is usable in a remote system that uses the 1771-ASB remote Input/Output adapter. The 1775-LP8 is meant to be installed in a 1771 Input/Output rack where it occupies a single slot, preferably the leftmost slot, which is set aside for processors and controllers. Since the 1775-LP8 is a processor, it has functions such as program scanning and program control.
Being a PLC-3/10 processor, the 1775-LP8 is powered by a 1775-P1 power supply. Processors in the PLC-3/10 series can be used as primary or backup processors in a system. These processors, including the 1775-LP8, communicate through a Data Highway or a Data Highway Plus channel. When wiring the 1775-LP8, noise pickup must be kept at a minimum, which is only possible by using shielded cables for all the Input/Output channel wiring. To quickly point out a fault/ error when it occurs, the 1775-LP8 has indicators on the front panel. Additionally, the bits in the processor’s status words can be monitored to help pinpoint the cause of an error or fault. The 1775-LP8, as with other processors within the same family, is able to reach its optimum performance when it is operated in industrial environments with a minimum ambient temperature of 0 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 60 degrees Celsius. A non-condensing humidity of between 5 and 95%, should be maintained when operating/storing the 1775-LP8 processor module.
