The 1775-LXA is a PLC-3 programmable expansion module that can be expanded to include up to 4 processors. Manufactured by Allen-Bradley, this module occupies a single slot in the PLC-3 expansion chassis or in the main chassis. The 1775-LXA supports the 1770-KF2, enabling the connection of intelligent RS-232-C or RS-422-A modules to a local area network. Through expansion, users can increase the number of available module slots, making the PLC-3 module economical enough to meet most application needs. Being an expansion module, the 1775-LXA is transparent to the system and it helps to optimize the reliability and performance of the system. The module does not include additional I/O programming or wiring with extension. It is able to execute various privileged and non-privileged commands.

The 1775-LXA supports various network communication protocols. These include the DH-485, EtherNet/IP, and also the DeviceNet networks. It also comes with a small footprint that helps to minimize the panel space it occupies. The module comes with various functional features that address a wide range of applications. With LED indicators located on the front of the module, users can easily monitor the module activity, making troubleshooting easy. The LED indicators help in monitoring the module status while the 1775-LXA is transmitting messages to applications. With two ports, the 1775-LXA uses these ports to ensure system backup. It also comes with a single thumb wheel that is used in determining the module address. In a nutshell, the 1775-LXA enables the addition of module slots, ensures the PLC-3 is set up economically and it allows for a 4-chassis expansion at any time. The 1775-LXA also allows for minimal limitations on module placement without additional I/O wiring or programming. The system’s environmental conditions include an operating temperature of up to 60 degrees Celsius and a storage temperature at -40 degrees Celsius to 85 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity range for the 1775-LXA is 5 to 95%, non-condensing.
