The 1775-MEA/A Error Correcting 64 KB RAM unit by Allen-Bradley is a PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) that monitors system input devices and the output devices. This device provides a real-time correspondence between output devices and input devices with accuracy. The PLC-3 controllers use Extended Addressing, which is a form of logical addressing. The expansion modules are made in such a way that they are transparent to the system. The 1775-MEA/A has no programming with expansions or additional I/O wiring.

 

The 1775-MEA/A is the part number whereas the specific model number is 1775-MEA Allen-Bradley PLC-3 and it weighs about 5 lbs (2.27kg). It inhabits one slot in a PLC -3 expansion chassis that can execute privileged and non-privileged commands. It also gives routing to the expansion bus that has 4 50-pin connectors. To link the intelligent RS-232-C to a local area network, the series works best with the 1770-KF2. The 1775-MEA/A PLC-3 controller is capable of accepting the PLC/PLC-2 type command messages with the PLC/PLC-2 logical addressing format.
