* The Allen Bradley 1775-MEF has been discontinued by the manufacturer, however we specialize in obsolete parts and can likely still supply surplus and/or refurbished replacement 1775-MEF units instead of migration.
The 1775-MEF is an Allen-Bradley product that is part of the Programmable Logic Controller module series (PLC-3). The 1775-MEF is a Memory Module, designed for Error Correction. It is part of the Allen Bradley PLC-3 Module series that includes Memory, Communication, Power Supplies, and Scanners. These PLC-3 modules can be used in a variety of configurations as well as expansion options according to the current need of the user. The 1775-MEF model and the entire PLC-3 series are based on an oddly more progressive AMD microprocessor than the initial two models. The communication components are tried and tested in a closed loop, thus ensuring free communication without any errors. The 1775-MEF module comes with a lithium battery that provides an extended backup time. The battery is non-rechargeable, so it is removed and replaced when it indicates BATTERY-LOW. Another battery option is the nickel-cadmium battery offers short-term backup; it is rechargeable and will automatically recharge anytime the module is plugged into a powered power supply, with an average 48-hour recharge time.
The Allen-Bradley 1775-MEF has a Memory Error Corrected indicator, which, when the indicator is yellow, means ‘Steady’; when the light turns off, no single-bit errors were present since power turn-on. The module also has the Memory Error indicator. A steady red light indicates that there is an uncorrectable error, either soft or hard. If the indicator is off, no uncorrectable memory errors were detected. This module also contains a low battery indicator.
