About 1775-MS8

The 1775-MS8 is a memory module that has been designed and created by Allen-Bradley. This memory module belongs and works with the programmable logic controllers of the 1775 series. This memory module is one of four modules designed to be used with this series. The Allen-Bradley 1775-MS8 memory module stores necessary information for operating in a correct way. This information includes program instructions and other relevant data and it can be monitored and sent directly from the memory, allowing the processor to execute orders. The Allen-Bradley 1775-MS8 memory module features 32K or 32,768 words. The total number of words in the processor gives the basis for the memory size, for which 1K equals 1,024 words. Each chassis of the controller must contain a memory module with the memory for the processor.

It is important to mention that the Allen-Bradley 1775-MS8 memory module is used for several instructions, and the data table assignments can be organized depending on the kind of application. The memory map contains the following areas: system status, system pointers, module status, data table, ladder program, message, system symbols, system scratchpad, converted procedures, force table, free memory and end of memory. The memory areas can vary depending on the amount of data stored on them. Some of the mentioned areas are important for the processor operations. These are the system scratchpad and the converted procedures. The reserved area has an undefined memory assigned in case there is an operation that requires more memory to function in a correct way. The ladder program provides a memory management solution for the Allen-Bradley 1775-MS8 memory module. This management works documenting the memory usage in each ladder program, and users can modify it in a fast and easy way.
