The 1775-MZ is a Memory Communication Module for use in the installation of the 1775-MCM1 (gearbox configuration) and a 1775-MCM2 high-speed memory interface for the PLC3. The 1775-MZ module has five LED indicators on the front panel, including a pass indicator that is colored green, a fail indicator that is colored red, an MZ sending indicator that is colored green, an MZ receiving indicator, also colored green, and a communication error indicator, colored red. The combination of the Pass Indicator (green) and the Fail Indicator (red) provides general status information about the 1775-MZ module. When the pass indicator is on and the fail indicator is off, the module is in normal operation. When the pass indicator is off and the fail indicator is on, the module has a fault. When both the pass indicator and the fail indicator are on, the module should be powered up or reset. When both the pass indicator and the fail indicator are off, the module has lost power. When a command is sent to the remote interface, the MZ sending indicator (green) comes on and stays on until the remote interface sends a command. Likewise, the MZ receiving indicator (green) is lit every time the module receives a command from the remote interface and stays lit until the remote interface sends a command. Whenever there is a checksum, parity or other communication error, the communication error indicator (red) blinks. If the first word of the 1775-MZ is created, the indicator remains on until the communication error bit is reset. Otherwise, the indicator blinks once for every error detected.
