* The Allen Bradley 1775L2B has been discontinued by the manufacturer, however we specialize in obsolete parts and can likely still supply surplus and/or refurbished replacement 1775L2B units instead of migration.
The 1775L2B is the Main Processor Module from Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation. The module is a series B version of the 1775-L2 Main Processor Module. The 1775L2B is used in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC-3) to assist in memory management and program execution. Since the module uses the level two instruction set, it can only provide supervisory functions which include the timing (ON/OFF delay timer, up/down counter, counter/timer reset, retentive timer, etc), arithmetic (Add, Multiply, Negate, file divide, etc), logical (AND, OR, exclusive OR, complement, etc), and relay methods such as bit on/off, unlatch indexed bit, and the output unlatch. Being the main processor, the 1775L2B should be mounted in the leftmost slot in an Input/Output chassis where it occupies two slots.
As with the 1775-L2, the 1775L2B is powered through the backplane where it draws a current of 9.4 Amps and 40 mA at 5 and 15 Volts DC, respectively. Also, communication with the PLC-3 processor takes place through the backplane. Additionally, the 1775L2B features multiple instruction types, a data table which is flexible (it contains floating point, integer, and high order integer data), a real-time interrupt routine, and LED indicators which show faults and proper functioning. The high-level features of the 1775L2B enable it to provide an efficient program scan time, complete command of program execution, and an easy and a fast way to switch between programs, among others. The memory storage of the 1775L2B Level 2 Series B Main Processor Module is segmented into sections which are dedicated and expandable. This includes a memory section for system status and pointers, module status, data table, messages, and system symbols.
