The Allen-Bradley 1770-T4 Industrial Terminal is a 9-inch-display industrial terminal designed for the control, trouble-shooting, and programming of industrial applications. This terminal offers a 9-inch diagonal display screen for the display of the machine status and application parameters. The application parameters and peripheral devices status updates are display edon the 24-line by 80-character Cathode Ray Tube display screen, which can be tuned to either the PLC-3 display mode or Alphanumeric mode. Upon start-up, the 1770-T4 Terminal runs full diagnostics of all the hardware, memory, communication Baud rates, parity, and line frequency switches on the logic board, and it also tries to establish a connection with the PLC-3 processor. If the processor is connected to the terminal, it automatically switches into the PLC-3 mode, but if it fails to establish a connection with the PLC-3 processor, it goes into Alphanumeric mode (Note that the operators can manually change the mode via a mode selection menu).
The 1770-T4 Terminal comes with an industrial keyboard with a sealed touchpad and keypad underlay for data entry, control, and programming. It has a rear-end AC power connector that accepts 120 to 240 Volts AC line voltage (+/-10% operating range), and it also has a fused AC line with a 1-Amp Bussman fuse. Also on the rear-end of the 1770-T4 Terminal are 3 channel sockets (Sockets A, B, and C) for connecting to a PLC-3 processor, peripheral devices, a computer, a modem, and a video output jack that connects to a black/white CRT industrial monitor. The 1770-T4 Terminal connects to the PLC-3 processor via the RS-232 Serial connector on the PLC, and it offers selectable baud rates. It has approximate mounting dimensions of 14.5 x 10 x 23 inches and an average shipping weight of 35 pounds.
