1771-AM1

The 1771-AM1 is a single slot chassis with integrated remote I/O adapter and Power supply. This hardware is manufactured by Allen-Bradley under the obsolete product family of PLC5 Programmable Logic Controllers.

This hardware features an internal power supply that has an nominal input voltage requirements of 120V AC / 220V AC with frequency of 50/60Hz. As PLC5 belongs to the early versions of PLC under the manufacturer, this hardware has a relatively bulky size of 298 x 70 x 187 mm or 11.7 x 2.7 x 7.3 in. and weighs 1.4 kg or 3.0 lb. This hardware is provided with mounting screw slots to allow direct mounting to the enclosure’s back panel.

The included Remote I/O (RIO) adapter port features compatibility with RIO network and supports data transfer speed of 57.6K; 115.2. RIO adapter uses the popular Belden Blue Hose 9463 cable. RIO communication protocol follows daisy-chain topology which communication cable may run as long as 1000 ft. In relation to cable distance, 10000 ft cable distance may operate with 57.6Kbps while for 5000 ft, 115.2Kbps may be used. As a general rule, the longer the cable, the slower data transmission speed is supported.

The 1771-AM1 is a PLC5 One (1) Slot Chassis with an integral power supply and RIO adapter. This hardware is manufactured by Allen-Bradley with internal power supply. It has a single slot I/O module capacity and uses a 14 gauge (2mm2) stranded wire with 3/64-inches-thick insulation. The chassis has selectable nominal ratings of 120V AC at 50-60 Hz and 220V AC at 50-60 Hz using the selectable switch and selectable input ranges of 97-132V AC (RMS) and 194-264V AC (RMS). The backplane has a real power of 30W and an apparent power of 48VA and it uses a load-dependent external transformer with 75VA power rating at 47-63 Hz. It provides voltage isolation tested at 2500V DC for 1 second and protects its internal circuitry through the 1.5A Slow-Blow fuse.

The 1771-AM1 supplies a 3.5A output current with 3.0A available for backplane supply at 5.1V DC (+3.8%) and it has a maximum power loss delay time of 13.6ms (+2.96ms). Any I/O module installed on it chassis slot draws an available backplane current of 3.0A. The 1771-AM1 adapter supports Baud rate of 57.6K and 115.2K. At a cable distance of 10,000ft, supported speed is 57.6K and 115.2K bps speed over 5,000ft length of communication cable. It supports a communication wiring block with an input wiring block. It has an operational temperature range between 0 and 60 0C (32 and 140 0F) around a relative humidity range of 5-95% without condensation and it is stored under a temperature range of -40-85 0C (-40-185 0F). The 1771-AM1 has a dimension of 2.875in x 11.75in x 7.375in and weighs approximately 1.35Kg. according to baud rate and whether the scanner and all adapters have extended node capability, as shown in the table below.
