The Allen-Bradley 1771-AM2 is a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) chassis from Allen-Bradley. It is compatible for use with The PLC5 series. This chassis is cost-effective hardware, ideally used for implementing Distributed I/O architecture as the 1771-AM2 comes with an integral Remote I/O (RIO) communication port. In addition, this chassis comes with a 3 A-rated power supply that is intended to power up the hosted module of the chassis. The 1771-AM2 comes with Two (2) slots, compatible with being installed with I/O modules having a density of Eight (8), Sixteen (16), and Thirty-Two (32), supporting half-addressing and full-slot addressing. The RIO adapter of the 1771-AM2 supports a communication speed of up to 5.6 kbps and may cover up to 10,000 cable feet using the 1771-CD or Belden 9463 communication cable. This chassis may also be used in applications where I/O timing or response is less critical due to the delays that might be experienced when using local I/O architecture. The 1771-AM2 supports panel mounting via the mounting tabs available to the device. It comes with a line power selector for the configuration of the input supply voltage. Appropriate power supply voltages for this compact chassis are 97-132V AC (RMS) and 194-264V AC (RMS). It also comes with module status indicators such as Power Supply active indicator; RIO Adapter status indicators such as Active, Faulted or Rack Fault detected. An integral slow blow, 1.5 Ampere, 250 VAC fuse is also provided for device protection. Module addressing is set parameterized via the Dual In-Line (DIP) switches mounted at the front panel of the module.

The 1771-AM2 2-slot Chassis with Power Supply and Adapter by Allen-Bradley is a double-slot I/O chassis which is designed to support only 2 single slots I/O modules or a double-slot I/O module. It has a user-selectable nominal input of 120V AC at 50-60Hz input frequency and 220V AC also at 50-60Hz. Its input voltages range between 97-132V AC (RMS) and 194-264V AC (RMS) and it has 30W and 48VA real and apparent input power ratings. It also comes with communication wiring block with an input wiring block. The 1771-AM2 uses a 2mm2 stranded wire conductor with 3/64-inch maximum insulation thickness and it is tested to function optimally under a designated operational temperature range of 0-60 0C (32-140 0F) and a non-condensing relative humidity range of 5-95% without de-rating. The 1771-AM2 weighs approximately 2.27Kg (5lbs) and has dimensions of 127mm x 298.5mm x 187.3mm (5.0in x 11.75in x 7.375in).
