|

The 1771-DMC4 module is an Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation PLC 5 series control coprocessor module. It is a control coprocessor module with Ethernet support that allows it to communicate through the Ethernet network. The 1771-DMC4 control coprocessor module needs to be powered by an external power supply with the right power ratings. The power requirements of the control coprocessor module will depend on whether or not it is operating with a serial expander module. The 1771-DMC4 control coprocessor module can operate with a serial expander module connected to it and it can operate alongside other control coprocessor modules in the same chassis.

The Allen-Bradley 1771-DMC4 is a control coprocessor module. This intelligent module has surpassed the capabilities of the other common controllers. Its communication channel uses an Ethernet or asynchronous serial communication port. The 1771-DMC4 can compute complex algorithms and math problems because it operates using C, BASIC, and Assembly language. It can manipulate any input and output information. In environmental conditions, the operating temperature ranges from 0-60°C and the temperature ranges from -40-85° C for storage. The relative humidity is 5 - 95% non-condensing. At backplane current, its main module has 4 Amps at +5 V DC with Ethernet and transceivers. The serial expander has 1.5 Amps at 5V DC and has a resistive 500 mA at 30V AC/DC. The 1771-DMC4 has a 60 ° C maximum variations of ±5 minutes per month and ±20 seconds per month maximum variations at 20° C. The module’s 1771 I/O chassis can be either connected to PLC-5 on the same chassis as the controller or remotely connected to the controller. The keying of the main module on the upper C connector is between pins 24 and 26 and between pins 30 and 32. The keying on the serial expander module is between pins 16 and 18 of the upper C connector, pins 2 and 4 of the lower D connector, and pins 16 and 18 of the lower D connector. The communication ports are the RS-232 ports with 9 pins and wire category 2 at COMM 0 and the RS-232/423/485/422 port compatible with 25 pins and wire category 2 at COMM 1 in 60 °C.
