The 1771-IE05 input moduleĀ is an analog input module that has been manufactured by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation. It is a member of the Allen-BradleyĀ PLC 5 product line. This intelligent module is designed to interface with analog inputs as well as with PLC processors via block transfer programming. The 1771-IE05 input moduleĀ uses a maximum of 8-bit resolution and it provides the required conversions of analog to digital signals and vice versa to interface the analog signals by using the PLC data table values. This module is suitable forĀ a variety of applications, including temperature and pressure sensing, flow metering, and level sensing applications.

The Allen-Bradley 1771-IE05 module comes with 8 single-ended inputs and operates on a voltage rating of 0 toĀ 10 Volts DC and a maximum off-state current of 1.7 milliamps AC/DC. Other specifications of this unit include 400 milliamps of backplane current load at 5 Volts DC, a typical signal delay of 24 milliseconds in an on/offĀ AC state, 10 milliseconds in the onĀ DC state, and 20 milliseconds in the offĀ DC state. The 1771-IE05 module comes with the 1771-WB wiring arm that replaces the module, eliminating the need to disconnect the wiring. The unit requires a single slot for installation in the I/O chassis and keying in bands for correct installation between pins 26 andĀ 28 for the upper connector, and pins 4 andĀ 6 for the lower connector. The Allen-Bradley 1771-IE05 module features a red "FAULT" indicator and a green "RUN" indicator onĀ the front panel. The unit also contains optoelectrical isolation to guard the system circuits against electrical transients and an input filtering feature that reduces electrical noise.
