The 1771-IF01 module is an analog input module and a product of Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation. This intelligent input module is part of the PLC 5 product series, and it is designed for interfacing between the analog inputs and PLC processors through block transfer programming. The Series B 1771-IF01 analog input module comes with 8 or with 16 single-ended inputs with a voltage range of 1 to 5 Volts DC. Other specifications include a current range of 4 to 20, 0 to 20, and -20 to 20 milliamps, a maximum off-state current of 1.7 milliamps AC/DC, and a backplane current load of 1.3 Amps at 5 Volts DC. It uses 12-bit resolution and it provides the necessary analog to digital conversions and a digital to analog to interface for analog signals with the values of the PLC data table. This module is made for a wide range of applications like flow metering, level sensing, and temperature and pressure sensing applications.

The Allen-Bradley 1771-IF01 module has a channel update time of 8 milliseconds for 8 channels. The unit has a typical signal delay time of 24 milliseconds (±10) on the on/off AC state, 20 milliseconds (±9) in an off DC state, and 10 milliseconds (±4) in an on DC state. It features the Allen-Bradley 1771-WB wiring arm that replaces the wiring module and eliminates the need for disconnecting all the wiring to install or service the device. The 1771-IF01 module requires one slot for the installation in I/O chassis as well as keying bands for accurate installation. The 1771-IF01 module has a green "RUN" indicator and a red "FAULT" indicator for the fault and power status updates at the front panel. It also contains optoelectrical isolation that protects the system circuits from electrical transients.
