1771-IFEK

The Allen-Bradley 1771-IFEK is a Conformal-Coated PLC 5 Analog Input Module. Conformal coatings are polymeric films which protect the module from humidity and contaminants. It uses block transfer programming to transfer input data words from its memory to the PLC processor’s data table and transfer back configuration words. The 1171-IFEK requires a single-slot for installation in a 1771 I/O chassis and it does not need an external power supply. The 1171-IFEK module has up to 16 single-ended inputs or 8 differential inputs which it converts to a proportional 4-digit BCD or 12-bit binary value. It has five voltages and three current input ranges for the users to select. Voltage input ranges are 1 – 5V DC, 0 – 5V DC, -5-5V DC, -10-10V DC, and 0 – 10V DC. Current Input ranges are 4 – 20mA, 0 – 20Ma, and -20 - +20mA. It requires a backplane current load of 500mA at 5V and has a channel update time of 18ms per 8 channels and 36ms per 16 channels. Its wiring is connected to the 1771-WG field wiring arm, eliminating the need for disconnecting the wires when replacing the module. The 1171-IFEK has a maximum power dissipation of 2.5W and maximum thermal dissipation of 8.52 BTU/hr. Keying bands must be put between pins 10-12 and pins 24-26 to accept only this module. The 1171-IFEK module has selectable real-time sampling, data format, and scaling to engineering units features. It contains a green RUN and a red FAULT indicator on the front panel for power and fault status. The 1171-IFEK has optoelectrical isolation and digital filtering features to reduce the electrical noise.
