The 1771-IKC controller module is a controller module from the PLC 5 series manufactured by Allen-Bradley. It is a positioning input/output module. This module maintains a count from the encoders independent of the processor, optical beam counters, and different types of switches. It supports a 12 to 24 Volts DC rated incremental encoder or single-channel device. It can run with a maximum input frequency of 50 Kilohertz. The 1771-IKC controller module is equipped with 5 Volts DC and 0.5 Amps per output. It supports high-powered operation. The AC solid-state family of digital input/output has support for 10 to 267 Volts AC voltage. The front panel of the controller module comes with status indicators that show the ON/OFF condition of an individual input or output. It is equipped with addressing nodes which can address the input/output in 2-slot as well as in 1-slot setups. The 1771-IKC controller module has an AC signal-off delay of 24 milliseconds and a DC signal-off delay of 20 milliseconds.
The front side of the 1771-IKC controller module is equipped with an LED indicator that is used for monitoring and troubleshooting the system. The LED indicators in the module show information related to the communication status, power status, and the initialization status. Also, the module is equipped with logical switches to indicate if the module is ON and OFF by using the voltage difference. The switches are also used to choose the encoder that is suitable for the module. The controller module can be used with all Allen-Bradley programmable controllers. For regular operation, the 1771-IKC controller module should be operated at a temperature range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius. The storage temperature of the module should not exceed 85 degrees Celsius.
