The Allen-Bradley 1771-NBV1 is an analog I/O module that is part of the Allen-Bradley 1771-N product range. It is designed to offer six ±10V inputs and two ±10V outputs. The total current that is drawn by the 1771-NBV1 from its I/O chassis backplane is 1.6 A. This module is compatible with the PLC-3, the PLC-5, and the PLC-5/250 controller families.
The input ports on the 1771-NBV1 module support a ±10.5V (±42mA with a resistor) voltage range. The resolution on the input ports is 330µV/bit (at 15 bits with a sign bit) and the input impedance is in excess of 10megaohms. The time required to detect an open circuit on the input is less than 9s and the overvoltage protection on the inputs is 140V AC RMS (continuous). Its normal mode rejection is 50 dB / 60 dB at minimum whereas the typical value for commode mode rejection is 150 dB. The offset drift and the gain drift are ±30µV/°C and ±35ppm/°C. The 1771-NBV1’s input bandwidth that is supported by the input ports is 9 Hz., -10.4V DC is the underrange limit, and 10.4VDC is the overrange limit.
The output ports on the 1771-NBV1 module support ±10.4V in open circuit with the output resolution at 1.32mV/bit (13 bits with a sign bit) and the output impedance at less than 1ohm. The outputs can drive circuits with a resistance of 1kiloohm or greater (10mA maximum), 140V AC RMS (continuous) is the overvoltage protection rating on the outputs. ±400µV/°C and ±50 ppm/°C are the offset and gain drift values. The RTP-4 is recommended for use with the 1771-NBV1 and the module power should be disconnected before insertion/removal from the I/O chassis. The 1771-NBV1 gives off 8W during operation and performs optimally in environments with ambient temperatures from 32 to 140°F at 5 to 95% humidity (non-condensing).
