The 1771-NC6 cable is a connector cable that has been designed and manufactured by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation in the PLC 5 product line. It is one of the cables that is used to make connections between devices within the PLC 5 controller system. The 1771-NC6 connector cable is 6 feet long and it weighs 0.6 pounds. This cable is made to connect an Allen-Bradley 1897-NOV fast isolated analog voltage type of output module to a remote termination paddle. The 1771-NC6 connector cable has connectors with 25 pins each on both of its ends.

The Allen-Bradley 1771-NC6 is a cable used for connecting Remote Terminal Panels or RTPs to Allen-Bradley 1771-N series analog modules. The Allen-Bradley 1771-N modules are made to work with Allen-Bradley PLC-3, PLC-5, and Allen-Bradley PLC-5/250 programmable controllers when the modules and the programmable controllers are connected with a cable like the 1771-NC6 cable. The 1771-N modules are purpose-built for applications where high resolution and good noise immunity are required. These modules make use of 16-bit analog-to-digital converters and of 14-bit digital-to-analog converters for achieving the desired resolution and precision. The N-series modules are designed and tested to provide 1000V isolation between all the channels, which ensures that noise signals, voltage transients, or shorts/overloads on one channel will not affect any other channel. Calibration is required once a year and can be done from the PLC processor.
1771-N series modules are designed to be used in combination with remote termination panels (RTPs) with the 1771-NC6 cable. The input/output wiring is terminated on RTP field wiring connectors and prefabricated cables like the 1771-NC6 are used to connect the RTPs to the 1771-N I/O modules for operation. The 1771-NC6 is a 6-foot (1.8m) cable used for connecting RTPs to 1771-N I/O modules to create bigger and more efficient mechanical systems. 25-pin connectors are connected at both ends of each 1771-NC6 cable. 1771-N modules are available in 4-channel or in 8-channel configurations. Two 1771-NC6 cables are needed for connecting the relevant RTPs (1771-RTP1, 1771-RTP2, 1771-RTP4) with 8-channel I/O modules and just one 1771-NC6 cable is needed for connecting the relevant RTPs (1771-RT41, 1771-RT44) with the 4-channel I/O modules.
