The 1771-OD is a discrete output module from Allen-Bradley. It is part of the 1771 product family which features Six (6) isolated output channels that deliver output voltage of 92 - 138VAC with frequency of 47-63 Hz. This module has a continuous output rating of 2 Amperes per channel without exceeding 6 Amperes for the entire module. It is installed to any available 1771 I/O chassis and uses the 1771-WD field wiring arm.
The 1771-OD is installed with 5A, 250VAC Bussman MTH5, IEC27 Type F fuse. This fuse can be replace with the same or any fuse with the equivalent type and rating. The isolation fuses can be accessed when the front component side cover is removed. It is also recommended to remove power from the backplane when replacing fuse. Installation of fuse with power applied may trigger static discharge and electrical arc which may at least degrade the electronic components or worst, damage the entire module.
The 1771-OD also come with Twelve (12) status indicator lights. Half of the LED indicators are designated to signify the energization states of each output channels while the other half are dedicated to monitor the fuse-blown status.
The 1771-OD has a maximum power dissipation of 13.2 Watts and minimum dissipation of 1.2 Watts. Similarly, maximum Thermal Dissipation is 45.2 BTU/hr while minimum dissipation is 4.1 BTU/hr. When making wiring connections to this module, appropriate conductor size range is 14-22 American Wire Gauge (AWG), strander or solid copper wire with insulation rating of 75 Deg. Celsius or higher and maximum insulation thickness of 3/64 inches or 1.2 mm insulation. It uses the 1771-WD Field Wiring Arm with tightening screw Torque of 7-9 lbs-in.
It can reach an altitude of 2000 meters at its maximum without derating. Do not connect or disconnect the cable to the terminal block while power is on, or insert or discharge the module while power is on; ensure that the power has been switched off and the area secured before continuing. Failure to do so may result in a potentially hazardous electric arc which can cause an explosion in the installation area.
The 1771-OD is supplied as open-type enclosure. It has a range of power dissipation between 1.2 and 13.2 Watts, a thermal dissipation range between 4.2 and 45.2 BTU per hour, and comes with a total of six outputs. This unit has a maximum backplane current of around 225 mA; its voltage rating at 47 to 63 Hertz can range between 92 and 138 Volts with an output current rating of 2 A per each output. The maximum On-state voltage drop of this module is 2 Volts at rated current and the maximum Off state leakage current of this module is 5 mA per output.

Allen Bradley PLC 5 Digital AC Output Module, 6 Outputs, 92-138 Volts AC Operating Voltage, 225 Miliamperes Backplane Current
The Allen-Bradley 1771-OD is a Six (6) channel individually isolated discrete output module. This module comes with isolation fuse installed within the module and has 1200V channel to channel and 1800 V channel to backplane isolation. With this module, users can expect an increased operational uptime as failure of one or more channels does not affect the operation of the module unlike standard module that feature output groupings wherein a certain group is disabled when a single channel malfunctions, the 1771-OD remains operational even with a malfunctioned channel(s).
