The Allen-Bradley 1771-ODC is an AC output module that is compatible for use with the 1771 Product category. It has Sixteen (16) isolated output channels with isolation rating that meets or exceeds UL Standard 508, and CSA Standard C22.2 No. 142. This module is specifically compatible with the PLC 5 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), acting as an output module. This module implements the output commands as instructed by the PLC5 controller. This module delivers a nominal output supply voltage of 120VAC with, compatible for energizing electrical loads that operates at a voltage range of 92-138 VAC.
This module is a Series C module, with identical operational parameters compared to the 1771-OD. With the 1771-ODC, control of motors can be implemented directly without the need of using an interposing relay. 120 VAC output voltage can directly energize contactors and relay coils. This module has individual channel status indicators that energizes when an output channel is providing an output voltage to the connected load. It also has individual fuse blown indicator that reports whether the built-in fuse of the module is energized. The embedded fuse of the 1771-ODC is a 5A, 250V 3AG normal blow fuses, One (1) unit installed per output. The fuse is a Buss AGC-5, Littelfuse with catalog number 312005.
The output current of each of the module’s channels is 2A per output (not to exceed 6A per module with Surge current rating of 20A maximum for 100ms Repeatable every 5 seconds with load current of 60mA per output.
The 1771-ODC has 8 image bits per module and supports ½, 1, and 2-slots addressing. It contains surge suppression circuitry to prevent high-voltage transients from the AC line. The 1771-ODC Series C module has 6 isolated outputs with 120V AC voltage category. It has an operating voltage range of 92-138VAC and a backplane current load of 225mA. It has maximum continuous current per output of 2A and maximum current per module of 6A. It has a typical signal delay of 1ms from Off to On-state and of 8.3ms from On to Off-state. It has a maximum power dissipation of 13.2W and maximum thermal dissipation of 45.2 BTU/hr. It comes with a 1771-WD wiring arm to replace modules eliminating the need to disconnect wiring. The 1771-ODC is mounted in a 1771 I/O chassis containing a PLC processor with keying bands for correct installation between pins 4-6 for the lower connector and pins 30-32 for the upper connector. The 1771-ODC module has 12 status indicators at the front of the module. The top six red indicators show the status of each output and bottom six indicators indicate a blown-fuse condition. It also includes optical coupling and filtering for reducing the signal noise.
