|

The Allen-Bradley 1771-OFC output module is a 4-channel output module from the PLC 5 series that can be used as an output module in an Allen-Bradley PLC 5 series programmable logic controller system. Additionally, this output module can be used as a standalone output module in the PLC 5 system or it can be equipped with output expansion modules to give it more output points. The 1771-OFC output module operates with an AC voltage range from 92 to 138 Volts AC. The 4 outputs in this module support voltage ranges of 1 to 5 Volts DC, 0 to 10 Volts DC, -10 to 10 Volts DC, and 0 to 5 Volts DC. The 1771-OFC output module?s outputs also support current ranges of 4 to 20 milliamps, 0 to 20 milliamps, and -20 to 20 milliamps.

The Allen-Bradley 1771-OFC is an analog output module. It is a 12-bit plug-in intelligent module that produces application-dependent analog signals at their outputs. It contains an onboard processor and memory which it repeatedly scans to perform DA conversions for analog devices. For single transfer, 16-bit word data consists of 12-bits of the output signal and 4-channel bits which are not used in block transfer. The output signal can be user-selected in 12-digit binary or 3-digit BCD. The 1771-OFC can be interfaced with many programmable controllers such as the Mini-PLC-2, Mini-PLC-2/15, PLC-2/20, PLC-2/30, and the PLC 3. The 1771-OFC is a two-slot module with 4 single-ended output channels. All channels have the same voltage of +1 - +5V DC, 0 - +10V DC, -10 - +10V DC, 0 - +5V DC, +4 - +20mA, 0 - +20mA, and -20 - +20mA. It can be either used as a stand-alone unit or with output expanders to increase the output points of the system. The 1771-OFC includes a 12-terminal field wiring arm for module replacement without disconnecting the wires. It requires a backplane current of 1.4A at 5V and a separate external power supply also. It requires two adjacent slots for installation in a 1771 I/O chassis with keying bands between 2-4 and 6-8 for the left connector and 4-6 and 32-34 for the right connector. The 1771-OFC module has a red fault LED at the front of the module which is normally OFF. If a fault occurs, it alternately flashes ON and OFF and remains continuously ON in the run mode. It has 1500V optoelectrical isolation that protects the system from overvoltage situation.
