The 1771-OJC PLC 5 Pulse Output Expander Module is an essential electrical component of the 1771-QA Stepper Motor Positioning Assembly which functions by allowing programmable control of a steppe motor of a PC and consequently allows for modular expansion from a single to a 3-axis setup per I/O chassis. The 1771-OJC requires an 800 milliampere current at 5V DC from the backplane and employs 5-30V DC at 340mA (max) rated auxiliary power source with a peak-to-peak ripple value less than the factory specification for the stepper translator. The 1771-OJC has the E-STOP and the JUG input modes with 120ms signal (input) delay time between 1 and 3 axes in JUG mod, and 250ms signal delay time for the E-STOP mode. The 1771-OJC’s voltage ranges between 1.0V DC (high state) and 0.8V DC (low state) and it comes with an internal pull-resistor (1.6 Kilo Ohms) which makes it compatible with most Open Collector Logic Devices. The module has an ON-state current of 2.3mA at 5.0V DC and 18.6mA at 30V DC and its output voltage ranges between -2.6V DC (-4.2 in the worst case) and +.7V DC (1.0V DC in the worst case) at 100mA maximum output current. The 1771-OJC’s worst-case signal rise and fall lasts for 0.6 microseconds at 100mA and it has a 50% duty cycle pulse. It requires a wiring arm with a wiring screw torque of 9 pound-inches and its circuitry uses Belden 8771 wire with a 40-foot maximum range. It is keyed to the backplane by connecting its connector band between pins 8 and 10 and between pins 22 and 24 of the backplane top connector. The 1771-OJC has an operational temperature between 0 and 60 0C (32 and 140 0F) around 5-95% non-condensing humidity environment and it is stored between -40 and 85 0C (-40 and 185 0F).
