The Allen-Bradley 1771-OQ is an Isolated 24V DC Output Module that is directly controlled by the PLC data table’s state of corresponding bits. It is part of the 1771 Digital DC Output Modules for PLC-5 Systems. The module has a total of eight outputs with an operating voltage range of 20.4-26.4V DC. The 1771-OQ comes with 9A of continuous current. It is ideal for applications involving DC signal termination and isolated circuits, and it can also be used in motor control centers where individual control transformers are required. The 1771-OQ Isolated 24V DC Output requires a 225mA backplane current load. It is powered via the power supply of the 1771 I/O chassis backplane. It can be installed into any slot in the chassis except the leftmost slot that is already reserved for adapters or processors. Accuracy in keying or key placement is crucial. The keying bands in the backplane connectors should correspond with the module slots. Make sure to remove or insert keys with your fingers only. Using tools can result in backplane connector damage and possible system faults. Each output of the 1771-OQ contains a jumper. The module is normally used as shipped. However, if you are using solenoids, these jumpers should be removed. This will decrease the turnoff time of the solenoid and off-state clamping voltage, allowing the output to energize faster.
