The 1771-OR digital output module is a PLC 5 series digital AC-powered output module that has been designed and manufactured by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation. It comes with 6 output channels and it can support up to 2 Amps of current per output channel. The 1771-OR digital AC output module is manufactured in the 220 Volts AC voltage category in the PLC 5 product line, and it operates at 184 to 276 Volts AC voltage and at 47 to 63 Hertz of frequency. The 1771-OR digital AC output module is powered through the chassis backplane and it uses 255 milliamps of backplane current at 5 Volts DC.

The Allen-Bradley 1771-OR is part of the 1771 Digital AC Output Modules that may be used with either of the 1771 Series A or B I/O chassis. This module’s output of the tricacs comes with surge suppression. Between each terminal set is an MOV or metal oxide varistor that suppresses spikes or high voltage transients from the AC line. RC networks limit the effect of voltage transients from devices with inductive loads or hard contacts. This cost-efficient feature enhances power quality, optimizes product life, and prevents downtime. The 1771-OR AC Isolated Output Module is composed of 6 outputs and comes with a nominal output voltage of 220V AC, 50-60Hz. It has an output voltage range of 184-276V AC at 47 - 63Hz, with a current rating of 2A per output (it should not exceed 6A per module). Its maximum surge current is rated at 15A per output for 100ms and it is repeatable every 2 seconds. The 1771-OR requires 255mA at 5V DC ±5% 1771 I/O chassis backplane current through the chassis power supply. The front panel of the 1771-OR AC features 12 indicators. The first six indicators at the top show each of the output’s energy state –driven by the logic circuitry on the controller side. The bottom six signals a blown fuse, corresponding each of the output.
