The Allen-Bradley 1771-OWN is a part of the 1771 Digital I/O Relay Contact Output Modules that feature open contacts on output relays. This ensures that no leakage currents will happen while critical applications are in operation. The module has a total of 32 outputs with selectable configurations. This means that each output can be configured to be ON or OFF when the output module or the control system loses local power. On its front plate are 32 status indicators signaling if the corresponding outputs are energized, plus one blown fuse indicator.
The 1771-OWN can be used to drive a 120V AC input module and to indicate the status of turning on a motor starter. It is compatible with the 1771-IA, -IA2, and -IAD input modules. Attempting this connection will require a 15K, 2W resistor to be installed between the output and the common. Inputs and outputs configured together are not isolated.
The 32 outputs of the 1771-OWN are arranged in 4 groups of 8 outputs each. The module has a voltage range of 24-138V AC RMS; 24-125V DC. It is powered via the chassis backplane from the power supply and requires 2.5A maximum; 1.8A nominal backplane current load. The module can be used with the 1771-AM1 and -AM2; and the 1771-A1B through the 1771-A4B I/O chassis.
