The Allen-Bradley 1771-P2 module is an auxiliary power supply. While it is factory-shipped for 120V AC operation, you can use either 120V AC or 220-240V AC operation. Fuse protection is available with this power supply, but the fuse used depends on the desired operation. For 120V AC operation, you should use the 1 A slow-blow fuse and you should use the 0.5 A fuse for 220-240V AC operation. The 1771-P2 has a minimum voltage of 92V and a normal input range of 98-132V AC when using a 120V AC operation. When using a 220-240V AC, the minimum voltage is 184V and the normal input range is 196-250V AC. The nominal input voltages/currents of this module are 0.75 A at 120V AC and 0.38 A at 220-240V AC. At full load, it has a real input power of 65 W and an apparent input power of 90 VA. It also has a 50-60 Hz frequency range and a maximum output current of 6.5 A at 5V DC. The input power-to-equipment chassis/ground isolation voltages are 2500V DC and 1800V RMS, which are both for 1 ms. the 1771-P2 also has a 5.1V DC +/- 5% output voltage each for the logic circuitry and memory. The power loss time delay of this module is 13.5 ms +/- 2.5 ms for input power loss to the disabled processor. The 1771-P2 also has an operating temperature of 32-140 Deg. Celsius.
The 1771-P2 is a PLC5 auxiliary power supply module. This Power supply module is used to power a single 1771 chassis installed with one a communication adapter, 1771 Mini-PLC2 or a 1771-Mini-PLC 2/15. This power supply, as well as other auxiliary power supply does not include a battery backup. If battery backup is required, appropriate power supply is 1771-P1.
This power supply operates at a selectable voltage range. These voltage ranges are 98-132VAV and 196-250VAC. Before operating the power supply, ensure that the selector is properly pointing to the desired operating voltage. Nominal input voltage and current of this module is 120VAC at .75A and 220/240VAC at .38A.
This module produces 5.1 VDC with a maximum current of 6.5 A. This is the electrical voltage and current distributed to the backplane to energize the connected modules. This power supply is designed with an internal protection such as overvoltage, overcurrent and undervoltage which is continuously self-monitored by the module itself through the monitoring circuitry. If one of the error conditions is detected, the power supply shuts down. Primary remedy to resolve the error is to power cycle the module however, it is important to identify the source of the problem to avoid from re-occuring.
Slow-blow fuse are installed to this power supply. By default, a single fuse is already installed to any working power supply. For replacement or back-up purposes, specific fuse depends on the selected input voltage. For 120VAC operation, the required slow blow fuse 3AG 1A with recommended manufacturers Bussman with part number MDL 1A or Littelfuse with part number 313001.

Allen Bradley PLC 5 Power Supply, 120/220/240 Volts AC Input, 6.5 Amperes at 5 Volts DC Output
The 1771-P2 is an auxiliary power supply. This power supply is generally used for 1771 I/O chassis to which can power a single chassis only. The operation of this power supply is limited and very specific however, this specific scope contributes to cost-effectiveness of the assembly. Additionally, this power supply does not provide a battery back-up. The auxialliary power supply with batteyr backup is 1771-P1.
