The Allen-Bradley 1771-P5K is a conformal-coated 2-slot power supply module that connects directly to the chassis backplane. It is part of the 1771 Power Supply series for PLC-5 Programmable Controllers that are modular components of the 1771 I/O system. The 1771-P5K has a 24V DC nominal input voltage with a range of 20.5-30V DC. It has a maximum real input power of 57 W and a total available backplane output current of 8 A at +5V DC for I/O modules. For greater current requirement, it is designed to operate in a parallel formation (only with another 1771-P5). The 1771-P5K Power Supply can be used as primary or secondary power supply, occupying any 2 slots except slot 0. To prevent module damage or performance degradation, make sure to remove power from the backplane before inserting into I/O chassis. Make the following input power connections – the positive DC line to the top DC terminal, negative DC line to the middle N terminal, and the bottom GND terminal to the ground bus. The Conformal-Coated 1771-P5K has protective layers of polymeric film that seals out humidity and contaminants. This extends product life and protects components, making it ideal for use even in aggressive chemical and vapor atmospheres, high-humidity and caustic areas, salt-contaminated and saline-fog environments, environmentally sensitive and abrasive areas, and off-shore marine environments.
