The 1771-PD control module is a PID intelligent control module that has been designed and manufactured by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation. This device is a proportional, integral, and derivative control module that comes with a field wiring arm, specifically the Allen-Bradley 1771-WF wiring arm, for easy installation. This module can provide control to 2 closed loops such as flow, temperature, level, and pH closed loops. Other advanced control types include the cascade, feedforward, and scaling loop control. The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 1771-PD PID intelligent control module monitors the analog input process variables, calculates the analog output control variables, and compares the input value to the desired set point value. It uses block transfers for programming to communicate with the module. The input and output ranges are 1 to 5 Volts DC or 4 to 20 milliamps.
The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 1771-PD PID intelligent control module can detect the loss of process variable inputs, select direct or reverse acting control, download a setpoint from the PC processor, take the square root of the process variable, perform the error dead band, and even set an alarm when the error exceeds the dead band, among other features. The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 1771-PD PID intelligent control module is a dual-slot module, and the left panel contains 3 LED indicators and the right front panel contains a write-on label that can be used to record the voltage or current range and the most recent date of calibration. Indicators on the left panel allow the operators to check the current operating conditions of the module. This module also has 2 printed circuit boards.
