The 1771-PLS-B1 switch is a high-speed programmable limit switch module that has been designed and manufactured to be used specifically with the Allen-Bradley PLC 5 series 1771 I/O modules. This switch has been manufactured by Gemco and it is completely compatible with all of the Allen-Bradley 1771 series devices. This limit switch module comes with 16 direct outputs that can update themselves in just 5 microseconds. These outputs are located in the front panel of the module. The Gemco 1771-PLS-B1 high-speed programmable limit switch module features 8 field-configurable inputs that serve different functions such as product presence, registration mark synchronization, or remote setpoint functions. The resolver device for the module comes separately and it has a resolution of 14 bits and it comes with a field-programmable scale factor embedded in it. The most common applications for this module are high-speed gluing, assembly, and labeling applications.

The Gemco 1771-PLS-B1 high-speed programmable limit switch module requires a power rating of 5 Volts DC and a backplane power of 10 Watts maximum. The outputs enable the inputs to signal critical events, improving the production quality and reducing the production time. This module is internally powered by a PLC, eliminating the need for external power. The Gemco 1771-PLS-B1 high-speed programmable limit switch module comes with an RS-232 interface and a sinking input combined with limit switch outputs. This module has a total of 1024 setpoints. There are specific environmental conditions for the correct application and use of this module, for example, a temperature range of 0 to 55 degrees Celsius must be maintained at all times to maintain the proper operations and extend the life of the module.
